The index measures the change in the som prices of goods and services bought by households in the three cities and the six districts.

Prices of domestically produced food were stable or lower after the 2026 harvest. The rise in the index came mainly from imported goods.

Average prices in som observed by the Office's price collectors, with the time an employee on the average wage of 3,250 som a month (2025, gross, 173 hours) works to pay for each.
The basket
Weights come from the household budget survey of 2024, in which food took about 45% of household spending.
